Brutus' Lead Sprinkler starts to feel special when a melee character reaches the point where ordinary weapon upgrades no longer move the damage meter enough. Instead of chasing only a better physical roll, this Morning Star turns Strength into a direct source of fire damage and trigger frequency. That changes how players should value Path of Exile 2 Currency during progression, since a useful ring or amulet can improve both survival and clear speed. The weapon rewards a build that grows steadily rather than one that swaps gear for tiny tooltip gains every few levels.

Strength Rolls Matter More Than They First Appear

The key line on Brutus' Lead Sprinkler adds Fire Damage to attacks for every 25 Strength, while its Molten Shower trigger also gains chance from the same stat. In practical play, this means a high-Strength chest piece or an amulet with Life, resistance, and Strength can be more valuable than an aggressive item with a small amount of generic damage. Players should still check the breakpoints rather than equipping every Strength item they find. Reaching another 25-point threshold has visible value; adding a few points without reaching one may not justify losing a major defensive affix. This is where the weapon becomes more interesting than a typical one-handed mace.

Build the Character Around Reliable Hits

Molten Shower is not a button players press on demand. It comes from weapon hits, so attack speed has real value after Strength is established. Faster swings increase the number of trigger opportunities and make mapping feel much less uneven, especially in dense Ritual packs or narrow campaign zones. A slow setup can still hit hard, but it may leave gaps between area-damage bursts. For regular clearing, prioritize a comfortable attack rhythm, enough accuracy or hit reliability for the chosen skill, and movement tools that keep the character connected to targets. The best version of this setup is not the one with the largest single strike; it is the one that keeps dealing damage while moving through a pack.

The Runeforged Version Is an Endgame Commitment

The Runeforged upgrade is where Brutus' Lead Sprinkler shifts from a pleasant unique into a serious endgame weapon. It requires the original Morning Star, three Exceptional Verisium, and Uhtred's Crest of the Chalice, then becomes a level 65 weapon with a Fire Damage base and 1.45 attacks per second. Those materials are valuable enough that rushing the upgrade can feel disappointing on an unfinished character. Before investing, make sure the passive tree, jewelry, and core armour already supply a meaningful Strength pool. If the build is still short on Life or resistance, spending resources on those gaps usually produces a smoother result than upgrading the weapon immediately.

Where the Sprinkler Performs Best

This is a strong choice for players who enjoy a direct melee build with a clear gearing identity. It performs well when Strength, attack speed, and durable armour pieces develop together, and it remains satisfying in content where frequent hits can spread Molten Shower damage across clustered enemies. Bossing asks for more discipline: there are fewer targets, less incidental coverage, and each missed swing matters more. Players planning their PoE 2 progression can use poe2 rmt as part of a wider resource plan, but the weapon still needs a coherent loadout to shine. Stack Strength with purpose, protect the character first, and let the Runeforged upgrade arrive when the rest of the build is ready.
